Aruba Carnival 70th year anniversary

February is a very special time in Aruba. Every year Arubans and tourists alike celebrate with a grand parade full of colorful costumes, lively music and dancing. Everyone takes to the streets to watch and participate in the fun and excitement of this event. This year Aruba is celebrating its 70th year anniversary of Carnival and it will surely be one to remember. 

Carnival celebrations originally started around 1955 but was officially inaugurated in 1966 on November 11th at 11:11 a.m. This time is important as each year the carnival official starts at that exact time and date. While it does starts in November, February is the best time to experience the festivities. Here are the most important dates for Carnival and not to be missed.

Aruba Carnival San Nicolas Parade

On February 10th, 2024 at 1pm the party starts with a parade in downtown San Nicolas. You can experience it all with a special package that includes the following. 


  • Black Top Hat adorned with handmade yellow corals, green feathers and handmade ‘GUTU’ (PARROTFISH)

  • Mug will light the minute it gets a drink poured into it

Aruba Carnival Grand Parade
