The Donkey Sanctuary Aruba is a non-profit, volunteer-run rescue founded in 1997 to protect Aruba’s donkeys from abandonment and road dangers. The volunteers are incredibly dedicated, focusing on caring for donkeys that are neglected, sick, or injured, while also preserving an important part of the island’s heritage. Today, the sanctuary provides food, medical care, shelter, and a safe home for more than 130 donkeys who were once left to fend for themselves around the island.
